Despite nearly 100,000 people in the UK dying from smoking-related illnesses each year, nearly one sixth of adults are still smokers. So what makes it so difficult to stop smoking?
It is because smoking has become a survival activity, an ingrained habit. Many smokers are unaware of the extent to which the primitive mind influences their habit. So repetitive has this habit become, the primitive mind truly believes that smoking cigarettes is vital for survival.
If you are a smoker, you have probably calculated the cost of your habit. Apart from the health implications, I’m talking about the cost of a packet of cigarettes, multiplied by however many you smoke in a week, a month, a year.
Many clients tell me of their repeated attempts to stop. Others tell me that they stopped for a long time, then started again. I used to be a smoker so all these stories resonate with me.
The intellectual part of your brain knows about the dangers of smoking. You don’t need me to describe them here.
Hypnotherapy is not a magic wand. I am not promising that all you have to do is go into hypnosis and you will resurface with a loathing of cigarettes. But I can assure you that if you really intend to quit smoking, hypnotherapy can make it a whole lot easier for you.
I have been told by past clients that they were amazed at how easy it was to stop smoking and how little they suffered from cravings.
